How to find the key and BPM of a song
Knowing a song's key and tempo lets you mix it smoothly, sing it in the right range, or build a remix at the same BPM. This key finder and BPM detector reads any audio file in seconds.

Read the key
The Key card shows the detected key (for example A minor), its Camelot code for DJ mixing, the relative major/minor, and the next most likely key if the song is ambiguous.
Read the tempo
The Tempo card gives the BPM with a confidence bar, plus half- and double-time alternatives.
Double-check with Tap along
If the BPM looks too fast or too slow, press Tap along in time with the beat to confirm which one is right.
Use the result

Frequently asked questions
How accurate is it?
Tempo is right for most songs with a clear beat; free-time or heavily swung tracks are harder, and any detector can land on half or double the true tempo - use Tap along to check. Key detection is typically right around 3 times out of 4 on real songs; when it's off it's usually a closely related key, which is why the next likely key is shown too.
What is the Camelot code?
A DJ shorthand for keys: numbers 1-12 around a wheel, A for minor and B for major. Songs with the same code, one number apart, or the same number with A/B swapped mix together smoothly.
Is it free? Is my song uploaded?
