How to convert WAV, M4A or FLAC to MP3

Choose the output format
In Convert to, pick MP3 at 192 kbps (recommended), 320 kbps (best) or 128 kbps (smaller) - or WAV - lossless, 16-bit.
Optional: make it mono
Turn on Mono for voice notes, podcasts and audiobooks - it halves the file size.

Frequently asked questions
Which formats can it read?
Anything your browser can play: MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC, FLAC, OGG/Opus and the sound from most WEBM and MP4 files. Chrome and Edge open the widest range; Safari can't open OGG or WEBM.
Which MP3 bitrate should I pick?
192 kbps is the sweet spot - it sounds the same as the original to nearly everyone. Pick 320 for archiving, 128 for voice notes and podcasts where size matters.
Is converting M4A or FLAC to MP3 lossy?
Yes - MP3 always throws away a little detail to save space. Converting to WAV is lossless, but can't bring back detail already lost in an MP3.
Are my files uploaded?
No. They're decoded and encoded by your own browser; nothing is sent anywhere. That's also why there's no size or daily limit.
Why does Save all ask for permission?
Browsers protect you from sites that download many files at once. Allow it once for swarasound.com and the rest save automatically.
