How it works

1

Open a song

MP3, M4A, WAV or FLAC - from your phone or computer. Nothing is uploaded.

2

It finds the chorus

The loudest 30 seconds are picked for you, with fades. Drag the handles to change it.

3

Save the ringtone

Download the MP3 and set it as your ringtone, alarm or notification sound.

How to make a ringtone from any song

A good ringtone is short, starts on the hook and fades out cleanly. This ringtone maker opens every song at its loudest 30 seconds - usually the chorus - and saves an MP3 your phone can use.

  1. Open the song

Press the box above and choose a song from your phone or computer, or drop the file on it.

  2. Check the part it picked

Press play. The gold handles show the 30 seconds it chose - drag them, or type exact start and end times.

  3. Adjust the fades

Half a second of fade in and two seconds of fade out are set. Turn the fade in to zero for a ringtone that starts on the beat.

  4. Save the MP3

Press Save the cut. The file is named after the song, with "(ringtone)" at the end.

  5. Set it on your phone

Android: Settings → Sound → Phone ringtone → choose the MP3 (or move it into the Ringtones folder). iPhone: open the MP3 in GarageBand, then Share → Ringtone.

Frequently asked questions

How do I put the ringtone on an iPhone?

Save the MP3, open it in Apple's free GarageBand app, then press Share → Ringtone. It appears in Settings → Sounds & Haptics → Ringtone. Keep it 30 seconds or shorter.

How do I set it on Android?

Save the MP3, then go to Settings → Sound → Phone ringtone and choose it. If it isn't listed, move the file into the Ringtones folder with your Files app.

How does it find the chorus?

It measures how loud each second of the song is and picks the loudest 30 seconds, skipping the intro - in most songs that's the chorus or the big hook. You can always move it.

Is it really free?

Yes - no app, no sign-up, no limits, no watermark. The song is cut inside your browser and never uploaded.

Is my audio uploaded?

No. The file is decoded, cut and encoded inside your browser tab. It never reaches our servers or anyone else's.

Want an intro nobody else has?

Generate an original track in the Swara Sound studio - then cut your ringtone or intro from it, with no copyright worries.
