How to tune a ukulele online

Standard ukulele tuning is G C E A, often sung as My Dog Has Fleas. On most ukuleles the G is tuned high (re-entrant), so it sits between the E and the A.

  1. G string (4th, nearest your chin)

Pluck it and tune to G4 - the high G of standard re-entrant tuning.

  2. C string

The 3rd string is the lowest note, C4 (middle C).

  3. E string

    The 2nd string is E4.

  4. A string

The string nearest the floor is A4 - 440 Hz.

  5. Check again

Nylon strings stretch a lot; go round once more and again after a few minutes of playing.
